I was quite biased *for* ocaml because of those benchmarks.
Then, I made my own tests and I was a bit disappointed.
Of course I tried several optimization switches including
those used in the above benchmarks.

Reading the ocaml mailing list made the impression that the developers
of ocamls admit a significant slodown compared to optimized C-code.

Nevetherless, OCAML is really great, (but not optimal).
