"JAGUAR has some other noteworthy Unix features outside the OS itself. I
was exceedingly pleased, for example, to see that Jaguar's default
install includes the Ruby programming language; the latest Python is
part of the OS too. Unfortunately, Jaguar's Perl is still at version
5.6.0, even though 5.8.0 was recently released. I hope Apple will
include the latest Perl in a future software update. In the meantime,
Apple has already posted instructions for installing it yourself. "
