The aim is to get to a state where you can exchange scripts that will "work out of the box" with the standard bundle. Currently too much of RAA and far too much of CPAN will only work once you have download a long list of modules, sometimes entering into circular tangles of mutually incompatible versions. Large footprint for the developer is not a problem. I _love_ having a rich library to pick and choose from. A 20Gb drive is smaller than you can buy at the moment. Like RedHat / Debian / SUSE / Slackware / ... download, resolve dependency conflicts and bundle up literally thousands of Linux apps for you to enjoy, there is a niche for a super rich Ruby distro.
