Subject: Gateway healthy?

I'm seeing some replies to things that 
I never saw via the mailing list.

How is the news-mail gateway? Do we
have any way of monitoring its status?

Dave-- I realize that most of the issues
with it are ISP and news provider issues
and thus beyond your control.

But: Would it be useful to write some
stats to a web page -- like how many 
messages were passed in each direction
today?
