ROC? no. what sean is saying is not that string = array, but that a string is a kind of array, limited by the types of objects it can contain (characters) and yet expanded to minupulate those. regardless of the string is an array argument, they both partake of sequence and containment. notice in ruby they both mixin Enumerable. so why should they not equally share every method in which they are thus analogous? as to the original question concerning .each, it appears that it will remain as is, which is understandable, but also too bad. IMHO. it would be nicer i think if .each itereated over the least common denominator: the character. after all we already have each_line, but alas no each_chr. ~transami On Mon, 2002-07-08 at 04:00, ts wrote: > >>>>> "T" == Tom Sawyer writes: > > T> what's an RCO? > > Recursive Container Object > > > Guy Decoux > -- ~transami "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." -- Benjamin Franklin
