Hi,

[ruby-talk:04367] Anyone up to doing a Perl6 RFC to use Ruby's extension scheme?

Hi,

I have a couple of questions:

(1) Is there anything about Perl5 that would have precluded it from
using Ruby's (C-language API) extension scheme (assuming the developers
had known about it at the time, and so on)?

(2) If not, is there anyone out there who is a reasonable expert on
Ruby's extension system, and who is also willing to submit a Perl6 RFC
proposing that it be used?

The RFC process is described near the beginning of
(http://www.perl.org/perl6/.).

While this may be something of a long shot, being able to make a
positive contribution to Perl6 would generate wonderful ongoing
publicity for Ruby. (And this might also lead to other mutually
advantageous developments.)
