I am impressed with the job you have done, and I admit it is not something I could do. :) You mention that thread switching makes it more complex. Aren't there threading problems on Windows? I have heard of these lately, but have not seen them. Is there a connection? I did many experiments with threading last year, both UNIX and Windows. But I was using the Cygwin version on Windows then, and now I am not. Thanks, Hal Fulton
