Nope.  I didn't compile Ruby myself; I'm using a binary RPM.

Strange.  This is the first time /I've/ ever seen something that I 
(successfully) compiled myself not work because of a link error.  EG, I use 
binary RPMs of KDE (compiled by the same ppl who I got the binary Ruby RPMs 
from), and I compile a lot of KDE apps myself, but I've never encountered 
this.  Do you know what the particular issue is that causes the dynamic 
link error?
