The protocol is fairly simple, but it needs to be as fast as possible and I'm somewhat concerned about the overhead of various XML parsers. What's I'd really like is a C-based parser that was just for the very simple set of XML documents that this protocol will use. - - How hard would it be to use ruby to write a tools to take the RELAX NG schema description and write out a C parser? Ideally, I'd like to go from XML to a C struct. - - I'd guess REXML and Rock'it would be places to start, any other hints. - - Booker C.
