Now I've hit another snag: > > irb(main):001:0> require 'fox' > LoadError: ld.so.1: ruby: fatal: relocation error: file > /usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.6/sparc-solaris2.8/fox.so: symbol cerr: > referenced symbol not found - > /usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.6/sparc-solaris2.8/fox.so > from (irb):1:in `require' > from (irb):1 OK, "cerr" should have been found in the C++ library (-lstdc++). You might want to go back and watch the link step for fox.so (the Ruby extension, not the basic FOX library) and make sure that -lstdc++ shows up somewhere in the list of libraries linked into fox.so. You could also do a dependency check: ldd /usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.6/sparc-solaris2.8/fox.so and see if libstdc++.so is in there somewhere. HTH, Lyle
