Subject: Oracle 8i Clob data type

Has anyone had success with Oracle 8i CLOB type fields?
I managed to get the oracle module to recognize the Clob type (defined 
as type 112) and it will actually return the description of the field, 
but it crashes when I try to do the fetch.  Unfortunately, I am just 
getting started with ruby, so I don't know enough to figure out what 
else I need to define to get it to support this data type.  Does anyone 
know or have suggestions to try?
