You need to learn the effect of single and double quotes on string
interpolation, for one thing.

1.9.3 (main):0 > foo = "foo"
=> "foo"
1.9.3 (main):0 > "#{foo}"
=> "foo"
1.9.3 (main):0 > '#{foo}'
=> "\#{foo}"
