I'm interested in the issue with using env, but I find you explanation a but hard to follow. What are some situations that lead to the problems you are describing. I'm currently using env in some gems and if there is a strong argument against it, I don't mind switching it.

USRP2 working with RFX1800 --> only noise is received

From: Paul Zumaruribe <lists@...>

Dear all,
I would be very grateful if someone could help me with my problem. I
have found similar posts but any of them is solved, and that why I'm
asking for help.
At the beginning we were working only with one USRP2, which was
preprogrammed and I didn't had to do any software change and it did work
properly. Once we achieved other 3 USRP2 we burned all the four devices
with the purpose of have the same FW and FPGA images each device.

Now I have been trying to capture GPS signal at 1.57542GHz but I can't
detect any signal, it seems to be only noise. I have an active antenna
feed with 5V DC and an input to USRP in RF. The parameters that we
choose are the next ones,

'rx_samples_to_file.exe --file probe.dat --type short --ant RX2 --rate
1e6 --freq 1.57542e9 --gain 70';

I have also done measurements with different gains and sample rates
without success.
when I uhd_usrp_probe i receive,

Win32; Microsoft Visual C++ version 10.0; Boost_105000;
UHD_003.005.001-0-unknown

All the devices give me the same result. Beside the motherboard i have
also burned the dautherboard.
Which could be the reason of my problem?
That you very much for your help,
Paul
