well, making the decision to develop for one OS only will certainly
simplify my task. That's not the path I intended to take, but I'm here 
to
listen to people like you who obviously know what kind of venture is
reasonable.

If my motivation for this project was only a financial one, I'd've
dumped it long ago. It should attract a lot of people, but it may very
well call the attention of only a few of those who're concerned by it. 
Im' doing
it because it seems to me that for once I might be the right person to
do it ;-)

As to the choice between Objective-C and Ruby: I'm already sure that
Ruby is going to be much more pleasant than Objective-C. I have just to
try out how Ruby is going to include Apple's XCode UI elements and which
IDE and/or widget toolkit works best. Maybe a good idea to confront
Objective-C with Ruby may be to write a micro-application and see who's
doing better...  By the way: you stated that you don't know Qt and never
worked with WxWidgets. What GUI builder do you use, then?
