It's probably related to the fact that #@... is shorthand for #@{...}.

irb(main):001:0> @x = 3
3
irb(main):002:0> "@x = #@x"
"@x = 3"

Probably 1.6.6 is smarter about looking for an identifier after the #@.

So the fix is to not put these together.
