Subject: Subtracting strings

Is there a method for deleting a string identified in a variable from 
another string, e.g.

<rubycode>
myunwantedword = "Hello"
myphrase = "Hello world"
output = myphrase.suchamethod(myunwantedword)
</rubycode>

output is now " world"
