did you mean:

class MyStandardError < StandardError; end

x = MyStandardError.new(:hello)
y = MyStandardError.new(:hello)

begin
   raise x
rescue MyStandardError
   puts 'ok'
end

# => ok

begin
   raise y
rescue MyStandardError
   puts 'ok'
end

# => ok
