The arts community is tolerant of different ideologies.  However, each
ideology has rather specific qualifications of what makes "good" art. 
The push for utterly ambiguous art either is from ideology, or the
deadening effect of commodification.

Where did this adage come from?   It seems to imply that
mathematicians throw livelier parties than artists... :-)
