Gimme a break, man ;-) It's much harder to generalize than to knock down a generalization without a counter-theory. Nearly everything I wrote was a generalization which could have easily been followed by a footnote saying "of course, this is a generalization and may not hold in any specific instance", but such an appendage would be tedious and obvious; as well, why provide such without a need? The [off-]topic under discussion can at best devolve into an attempt to pummel each other with enough generalizations that the vocal among us resign to their truth. Any claim to specifics can easily be refuted with "but that doesn't apply in general." Any claim with generality can be struck with "that's general enough that it's simply not true." Regardless I stand behind my statements and state that, while general I hold them to be generally true (add a footnote should you feel the need). If my statements aren't true I welcome a proper refutation or a counter-claim...
