I get very basic results by changing the regexps for the simple Outline minor mode that ships with XEmacs: (setq outline-regexp "mo\\|cl\\|..d\\|....d") The main drawback is that isearch does not work for invisibled code. The Hideshow minor mode seems more promising. Not the one in the XEmacs distrib, because it is rather old, but a latter one, hideshow.el,v 5.31. However, I get strange results, apparently caused by ruby-move-to-block from ruby-mode.el not working as forward-sexp does and as Hideshow expects (if I understood that correctly). Here is the relevant section in my .xemacs/custom.el: (require 'hideshow) (let ((ruby-mode-hs-info '(ruby-mode "def" ; I intend to extend that, when def work "end" "#" ruby-move-to-block nil ))) (if (not (member ruby-mode-hs-info hs-special-modes-alist)) (setq hs-special-modes-alist (cons ruby-mode-hs-info hs-special-modes-alist)))) (add-hook 'ruby-mode-hook '(lambda () (hs-minor-mode 1))) The strange result I get is that whatever the def I hide, it hides more than expected. As an example, using hide-all: # test def a() hello end #uncomment me to see a different, better, behaviour def b() world end def c() "!" end Thanks, Jean-Hugues ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Web: http://hdl.handle.net/1030.37/1.1 Phone: +33 (0) 4 92 27 74 17
