From: Dossy Date: 2002-05-09T23:06:36+09:00 Subject: Ruby bindings for MetaKit Looking through the ruby-talk archives, I came across this: http://blade.nagaokaut.ac.jp/cgi-bin/scat.rb/ruby/ruby-talk/37075 Back in March of 2002, Bob asked about Ruby bindings for MetaKit. Funny, I was just searching Google for "ruby metakit bindings" which is how I found the archived message. :-) Of course, the thread only has two messages in it and I don't see any other messages indicating that work has started on this project. Has work begun? What's the status? I'm no "Ruby expert" (by far) but I've worked with Tcl/MetaKit (I run a few WiKit wikis, which are Tcl/MetaKit based) and would love to have a Ruby MetaKit available. I'm especially interested in creating a Scripted Document for Ruby so I can wrap a whole Ruby application and distribute it with two files: the instrumented Ruby interpreter with MetaKit and VFS support, and the scripted document that contains the application and all the other necessary files. Getting MetaKit bindings for Ruby should be really easy -- I'm guessing a week's worth of work. Instrumenting the Ruby interpreter with MetaKit support will probably be a lot more work, but it's something for far into the future ... :-) -- Dossy -- Dossy Shiobara mail: dossy@panoptic.com Panoptic Computer Network web: http://www.panoptic.com/ "He realized the fastest way to change is to laugh at your own folly -- then you can let go and quickly move on."
