From: dagang wang Date: 2002-05-04T13:50:44+09:00 Subject: Is ruby ready for prime time? I am writing a test script for a c api. Following is a piec e of pseudo-code .... MyStruct* pRes; unsigned long length; getData(&pRes, &length); // a check shows pRes is initialized ok VALUE arr=rb_str_new2("text") // I suppose some memory allocation is done here //oops. a check shows pRes is corrupted I encountered many such problems in my development related to memory management. I have the feeling that Ruby is not ready for prime time. At least for the Ruby-C extension part. I wonder if anyone else has the same experience and knows how to get around it. Doug
