Step 5 of course was to rule the world *cackles evilly* :) Step 1 was a move to wrap up some functions of the current RAA into a client/server sort of model. This has been completed last week and with the help of Hiroshi Nakamura we have made several refactorings to both the services and the client throughout this week. In total there are 3 SOAP services that wrap up the current RAA. Here is a brief summary of what the current services are: RAA Query: A regex string can be used to query the RAA for existing packages. the query is performed only on the name of the package. A list of package names that matched the regex are returned back to the client. RAA Package Query: The name of the package is used to get the detailed information about a specific package. RAA Get Package: The name of the package is used to download the package from the download URL specified in the RAA. The package is downloaded to the current directory. I want to explore the idea of a REST style architecture before fully committing to SOAP - that is what i want to do this weekend, as well as refine the current SOAP services, documentation, and client. Please keep in mind the purpose of step 1 is to only wrap up the current RAA and hopefully gather some momentum from the community for this project. > Are we waiting on volunteers?
