I successfully built using mingw32 version of gcc and ruby-1.6.7. After downloading pdc24_ming_w32.zip, I copied each file like this: curses.h -> c:/mingw/usr/local/include/curses.h pdcurses.a -> c:/mingw/usr/local/lib/libcurses.a (*) c:/mingw/usr/local is a location I usually use for mingw32 binraries. I then ran extconf.rb in ruby-1.6.7/ext/curses with the option --with-curses-dir=c:/mingw/usr/local. cd ruby-1.6.7/ext/curses ruby extconf.rb --with-curses-dir=c:/mingw/usr/local make make install -- Takaaki Tateishi
