In python terms [*] I'd say it would fit into
http://docs.python.org/library/stdtypes.html#numeric-types-int-float-long-complex
well; a good example why only API docs are not sufficient for such an
undertaking.

[*] I say this because most people seem to refer to Python as a better
existing documentation model for the time being
