This error does originate (not surprisingly, I suppose) from ruby-odbc. I believe that means the problem is with unixODBC or FreeTDS, but I'm still having trouble tracking it down. I'm also having trouble making sure I'm correctly upgrading FreeTDS and unixODBC, but that's a question for a different news group.
