I suppose my example was flawed.  I have some exceptions where
initialize takes no arguments, but others where it takes two or more:

  class Exc < Exception
    def initialize(num_failures, num_hits)
      super("testing: #{num_failures}/#{num_hits+num_failures}"
    end
  end

Can this exception be re-raised in Ruby 1.6?
