Yet another iteration....and I'm one step closer:

a = IO.popen("foo")

begin
  sleep(5)
  until File.exist?("file")
  end
ensure
  p "kiing manager"
  Process.kill("SIGTERM", a.pid)
end


With this I get the CORRECT pid, but the kill method returns an error
saying I'm not the owner.  OK...how do I correct that?
