The process (in this case the forked off ruby.exe process) is still up. This brings me to a spin off question....is there a way to grab the child process IDs from a process? What's happening is that the forked ruby spawns off my app perfectly, but I suspect that the kill on the ruby PID will only kill that process and not what's running on it (my app). Thanks for the help so far....I'm feel as though I'm REAL close to getting this.... John
