That's not really a big problem.  The One True Editor is clearly vi.
Still, that doesn't mean we should saddle completely new programmers with
the task of learning to use vi.  Let them use whatever comes by default
with their OS configuration of choice.

As you say, getting hung up on the editor question is bad.
