VB6 is now discontinued, replaced by VB.NET. VB.NET includes the missing OO
features the community has cried for years to get, but screws up backwards
compatibility and the language itself (my opinion). Some of us are
disillusioned, and are seeking a new, better language.

I believe once fluent in Ruby, any .NET languages will become painfull to
work with:
- you need permissions to override a method
- you must specify an override
- you must specify an overload

Example:

Class Car
    Public Function getPower() as Long
    End Function

    Public Function getMaxSpeed() as Long
    End Function
End Class

Class FastCar
    Inherits Car
    Public Function Overrides getPower() as Long
        ' Doesn't work, Car.getPower not marked as Overridable
    End Function

    Public Function getPower(forGearLevelPosition As Long) As Long
        ' Doesn't work, forgot to mark with Overloads
    End Function
End Class
