I can use puts to show the value to the screen and it displays 
correctly.

I will have to check into the MYSQL log to see what it is there.

MYSQL returns something like this to my screen

in `query': You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that 
corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use 
near '["4352221213"]' at line 3 (Mysql::Error)
