That said, they also seem to attract a certain type of people. If you take Haskell for example, it seems to attract people who love doing abstract/math things. Python is more often used by system administrator these days. C is used by people who like to do low-level stuff. And ruby is for the entrepreneurs. These are really generalities and you'll find some types in every language. At the end of the day, I would choose the language I feel the best with, and ruby is my choice. Try lots of them and choose your direction. 2011/1/14 Josh Cheek : > On Thu, Dec 30, 2010 at 10:25 PM, tim o wrote: > >> >> hi >> i hear about 200,000 (uni-grads) apply for the 1000 java jobs >> so if only a few folks apply to get the 44 ruby jobs >> then if you know ruby you could get a ruby job sooner than a java job >> ruby is going to be more interesting as well >> >> >> > The latest Ruby Weekly had an article which implies this is the case: > > http://nuts.redsquirrel.com/post/2680658687/chicagos-ruby-developer-crisis?utm_source=rubyweekly&utm_medium=email >
