One interpreter per Apache process, multiple Apache processes per
instance.  Each Apache process has its own unique process ID, process
ID has only one copy of a Ruby interpreter.  That said, when
requesting a page, one of the multiple mod_ruby/Apache processes will
answer the request.  In effect, there is more than one instance of the
interpreter per mod_ruby instance, but there is only one interpreter
per request.  :~) This has come up a few times recently and hopefully
this puts it to rest for a while.  -sc
