I have soap clients connecting to several services, but one service only works about 30% of the time and the rest of the time dies with a horrible error much like the one below, except the number of "levels" seems to vary. /usr/lib/ruby/1.6/net/protocol.rb:345:in `new': Operation already in progress - - "connect(2)" (RuntimeError) from /usr/lib/ruby/1.6/net/protocol.rb:345:in `connect' from /usr/lib/ruby/1.6/net/protocol.rb:344:in `timeout' from /usr/lib/ruby/1.6/net/protocol.rb:344:in `connect' from /usr/lib/ruby/1.6/net/protocol.rb:339:in `initialize' from /usr/lib/ruby/1.6/net/protocol.rb:116:in `new' from /usr/lib/ruby/1.6/net/protocol.rb:116:in `conn_socket' from /usr/lib/ruby/1.6/net/protocol.rb:107:in `connect' from /usr/lib/ruby/1.6/net/protocol.rb:102:in `_start' ... 19 levels... from /usr/local/lib/site_ruby/1.6/webrick/server.rb:84:in `start' from /usr/local/lib/site_ruby/1.6/webrick/server.rb:77:in `start' from /usr/local/lib/site_ruby/1.6/webrick/server.rb:77:in `start' from ./raa_service_server.rb:29 The sevice giving me problems opens up a HTTP connection to try and fetch data from a web site for further processing. Now, if I comment out the HTTP connection part it works fine. Does anyone know if one should be able to make other HTTP connections from the soap server, or does it only allow other SOAP connections to be made from the server? It should probably also be noted that i'm using the soaplet through webrick. Many thanks in advance for any help on this rather baffeling behaviour. - -- Signed, Holden Glova -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE8rDgT+mF116Lw2cQRAj5YAJ90cNAo0sHsWeTc7XAaMpsxy4c9NACeJEaq 5nM482U9atLbfTjP+9cF41M= =it9D -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
