Subject: {Ruby code -> C} convertor

Hi all,

I was wondering, instead of developing a bytecode compiler and/or JIT 
for ruby, would it be feasible to implement a ruby -> C convertor ? As
I understand there is a 1-1 relation between ruby code and C so i think
this should be possible. Using such a convertor, one could develop his 
application using ruby and when he is finished with coding/debuging 
could run the code through the converter and get an efficient (and 
obfuscated) binary!

any opinions on this ?
