puts( /[a-z 0-9]*$/ =~ 'Well hello 123' )  # no ^, so match made at char 
1 'e'

puts( /[a-z 0-9]$/ =~ 'Well hello 123' )  # $ match from end = 13
so as this one,why does * makes such a difference?
