From: Mark Probert Date: 2002-04-04T00:43:16+09:00 Subject: RE: seeking to understand... My initial question about Mr Eckel's comments was because, like Mike, I am a language wimp. There is not enough time to go exploring... The path I have taken was Pascal/C/C++/Forth/Perl/Delphi/ruby with a bounce off OCaml and Haskell (the latter still intrigues me). I never got around to exploring Python and wanted to know what I am missing. Given that Life Is Short(tm), and ruby does all that I can ask of it, I think that Python will remain in the realm of the Great Unknown. Thanks to all for their thoughts. Regards, -mark. (BTW, the thought crossed my mind to embed FICL [http://ficl.sourceforge.net/ficl.html] into ruby to get the best of all worlds -- OO, ruby and Forth ;-)) At 09:50 AM 4/3/2002 +0900, you wrote: >*chuckle* > >I guess there are as many sets of likes/dislikes as people.
