Since clearly it depends on the hardware you run it on. Personally I think it's better to talk in terms of efficiency rather than speed. And if it's true that Ruby sacrifices a little speed to give the programmer a language that is a pleasure to use and debug in, I'm personally happy with that. -- The biggest problem with communication is the illusion that it has occurred.
