   ANNOUNCEMENTS
   =============
   
   Imlib2-Ruby 0.1.0
          Paul Duncan announced the release of Imlib2([1]) bindings for
          Ruby. You can find more information on Imlib2 at:

   Xml Serialization 1.0.pre2
          A new version of Xml Serialization([3]) was announced by Chris
          Morris. Xml Serialization allows classes to be marshalled to
          and from XML, with an emphasis on concise, human readable and
          editable XML.
          
   rbot - Ruby IRC bot
          Tom Gilbert released rbot ([4]) a Ruby IRC bot.
          
   Sun Microsystems Buys Rights to Ruby
          Sun decided that Ruby was "almost as well designed" as
          Java(TM). But the word on the street is that Sun has realized
          that Ruby is much better designed than Java - Why else would
          they buy it?. Apparently they will also trademark the phrases
          "The Ruby Way(TM)" and "Principle of Least Surprise(tm)".
          (remember what day this is ;-)
          
   Larry Wall proclaims Ruby to be Perl 6
          Another shocking development today... Larry says: "I picked up
          this Programming Ruby book over at Barnes and Noble the other
          day. As I read though it I thought "Hey, This is what Perl 6
          should be!" and I realized that we could save ourselves a lot
          of time by copying the Ruby source over into the Perl 6 CVS
          repository. So now that we have Perl 6 done, our next immediate
          task is to convert all of the modules in CPAN to Ruby, err, I
          mean Perl 6."

   Should math be object oriented?
          Some folks would like to do something like number.sin as well
          as sin(number).
          
   Ruby in Linux Magazine (April 2002)
          An article in the April 2002 edition of Linux Magazine is
          bringing in some new Ruby users.
