From: Bob Date: 2002-03-31T03:47:17+09:00 Subject: Metakit bindings? I played around with Metakit for Python the other day and thought it would be nice to add Metakit to Ruby's arsenal as well. I ask the Metakit guys about this and they said they would be very interested in doing this. The gentleman said that he prefers to work with a lanugauge "expert" so that the bindings are who that language would naturally do things. I am no such expert but think this would be a good thing. His reply is below: ========= From: Jean-Claude Wippler I'd definitely be very interested in this, but I don't know much about Ruby. From what I've learned from Python and Tcl, I think a binding needs to pay attention to the 'proper' way of doing things in a language (Tcl and Python are quite different bindings). Both bindings had the help of language experts, and it shows in the 'natural' way things have ended up IMO. There's not much I think I can do, other that encourage you and others to do this, and of course offer to integrate things once a wrapper exists - you might want bring Ruby up on the MK mailing list, and perhaps get some more support and help that way: ========= Would there be any takers on this?
