Sure - it's documented in the README at
http://github.com/seanohalpin/ffi-ncurses
and there's an example that's shipped with the gem:

If you were using this from a Linux console, you'd have to have gpm
running first. Don't know if there's anything special you have to do
for Snow Leopard.
