You shot at the right target, if I change the font to be almost
completely generic, e.g., line 58 of the gtk testrunner.rb is now,

 font = Gdk::Font.font_load("-adobe-*-*-*-*-*-*-140-*-*-*-*-*")

then I can spy the green bar in action.

BTW: this time around I was also able to get the FOX/FXruby
testrunner going after playing with FXRuby.cpp's cast for
rb_rescue2().

I am running ruby-1.6.7 (2002-03-08), FXRuby-1.0.3, gtk-0.27, and
the latest rough/lib/testunit from ruby-lang's CVS.
