Sure but most developers are developing for users, not other developers, so good Windows support is important. I write GUI clients that run on Windows, Linux and Mac. At the time I started the project, Ruby support for Windows was not very good -- due to cygwin -- so I used Python and Tkinter. I'd have much preferred using Ruby. Cheers, Nat.
