Given that:
1. You're on Windows and may not care about portability.
2. The app itself is not a true GUI.
3. You're looking for a low-profile solution...

I'd suggest using WIN32OLE to interface to Internet
Explorer. See Chapter 8 of _The Ruby Way_...
