The concept is to to hide from older browsers all the CSS they don't 
understand, or all of it.
This way, you can keep semantic XHTML, advanced CSS, plus cater old and 
buggy browsers.

Go to
http://www.pinkjuice.com/ruby/jelly/
in a 6er browser, then in NN4.

In the source you can find

<link rel="StyleSheet" href="basic.css" type="text/css" media="screen"/>
<style type="text/css" media="all">@import "pretty.css";</style>

NN4 for example doesn't understand the @import feature, so it simply 
doesn't load that CSS.
