Actually it does work. I was able to get the latest cvs today and figure out
how to compile it all. The readme is either only for compiling the latest
stable, or it's missing some additional tools required to do it (I can post
more info tomorrow if anyone's interested).

A handful of tests (10-ish) related to Dir, File & IO are currently failing
or throwing errors, and I suspect some or all of these might be fixture
problems. The large majority of the tests all pass -- it's pretty
impressive.

I don't know how many tests are being intentionally skipped -- there's
built-it functionality to skip tests based on platform -- and how many of
those need to be made to work, or simply should be skipped because they're
irrelevant. If Dave or someone else in the know catches this thread, maybe
they can shed some light.
