From: Mark Probert Date: 2002-03-20T04:51:26+09:00 Subject: irb, ruby and threads Hi. I have a script running under irb (ruby 1.6.6-cygwin) and it works as I expect -- it loads, runs and does its stuff. However, when I run it under ruby, I get the following error: (eval):3:in `format': wrong # of arguments(4 for 1) (ArgumentError) from ./coll3k.rb:156:in `join' from ./coll3k.rb:156:in `get_data' from ./coll3k.rb:156:in `each' from ./coll3k.rb:156:in `get_data' from ./coll3k.rb:233 line 156 points to ... @threads.each { |thr| thr.join } I don't understand. Can one of more enlightened folk on the list help me out with this one? Is the error in the block where the threads are defined? 'Format' seems to indicate a print statement. If this is the case, how come irb doesn't pick it up? (I think this means that I don't understand how eval is used in irb.)
