In Konqueror version 1.X, the JavaScript function open() is not being 
processed. When you go to locana.org:8080/applets/applets.rb, the Locana 
server sends JavaScript to open() a new window to the browser, the 
browser is supposed to open a new window and automatically set the URL 
of the new window telling the Locana server which window to load. I see 
the locana server sending the open() JavaScript command to the Konqueror 
browser but the window does not open. This tells me that either 
JavaScript is not supported in 1.X or something is disabled in 
Konqueror. Can someone provide me an example of a JavaScript that 
successfully opens a window in Konqueror?  Is there an option to 
enable/disable one or more JavaScript functions in Konqueror?  I am 
unable to test with version 2.2 on FreeBSD because the installer in 
/usr/ports is failing.

In order for Locana to work, you must have Java Script enabled and the 
'open unrequested windows' option in Mozilla must be enabled.  I suspect 
this is a popular setting to disable to keep those annoying pop-ups from 
appearing while surfing.
