Then i've installed ruby 1.9 :
zsh-% ruby1.9 -v       
ruby 1.9.1p376 (2009-12-07 revision 26041) [i386-darwin10]

and, when using it without forcing the encoding i get the right chars...

then i'm sure the prob comes from MacRuby.
